PLUM CRAZY
I am going plumb crazy over this year's bumper crop of plums!
After placing a tall ladder under my tree and begging all the neighbors to help themselves, even so, I'll end up with more plums than I can handle. Undoubtedly, I shall be forever grateful to the former owner of my property for planting this special souvenir gift for me. Several years ago the tree was in sad shape and it was even suggested that we cut it down. Instead, we trimmed off a few dead branches and it has revived like a cranky kid after a nap.
For many years, I have been making my special plum conserve for friends by popular demand, but this is the first year that I am able to offer this trendy holiday hostess gift for you to sample.
The spicy fruit is best served right on the dinner plate with cold chicken salad or hot chicken, duck, pheasant, and pork, but people have confided in me that they secretly enjoy spooning it right out of the jar! Enjoy!
